CCL AGM

Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League AGM & Presentation Evening Report

The 2007 AGM took place on Thursday 21 June 2007at the Met Police Sports Ground, Imber Court.

The intended constitution had to be amended due to the late reprieves at Step 4 of both Godalming Town and Corinthian-Casuals following situations that arose elsewhere in the country and the League expressed its considerable disappointment at what had transpired. It was though to the good fortune of both Guilford City and Bedfont who have both been reprieved in turn and thus retain their place in the Premier Division of the CCL.

The Premier Division constitution is, therefore:

Ash United, Banstead Athletic, Bedfont, Bedfont Green, Bookham, Camberley Town, Chessington & Hook United, Chertsey Town, Colliers Wood United, Cobham, Cove, Dorking, Egham Town, Epsom & Ewell, Guildford City, Horley Town, Merstham, North Greenford United, Raynes Park Vale, Sandhurst Town, Reading Town, Wembley (22)

The only changes from last season are that Chipstead have left, having been promoted to the Ryman League (Div 1 South) whilst in their place are Horley Town, promoted from Division One of the CCL.

In Division One, Tongham FC had not been recommended for membership, following the disclosure that they would not be able to play on their ground on Saturdays at the start of the season due to cricket. However, the membership decided that this was a problem that could be endured and Tongham were re-elected into the League on a card vote, along with new clubs, Knaphill (champions Surrey Intermediate League West, and Neasden Foundation (runners-up in the Middlesex County League). The latter will be playing their home matches at Avenue Park, Greenford, sharing with the Reserve team of Bedfont Green FC.

The full constitution of Division one for next season is, therefore,

CB Hounslow United, Chobham, Coulsdon United, Crescent Rovers, Farleigh Rovers, Farnham Town, Feltham, Frimley Green, Hanworth Villa, Hartley Wintney, Knaphill, Neasden Foundation, Merrow, Sheerwater, South Park, Staines Lammas, Tongham, Warlingham, Westfield, Worcester Park (20)

There will only be one Reserve Division next season consisting of 21 clubs. As a result, it is likely that the current Reserve Challenge Shield competition will be suspended.
