After 'shooting oneself' in the foot after10 mins it was always going to be a struggle. Up to the 10 min mark i thought Horley seemed to get off to a good start against a somewhat ponderous defence but after the 'incident' (punch/elbow) or whatever, the team were always going to be up against it big time.

Not sure about the availability of the strikeforce on the day but to most people that appeared to be the 'achilles heel' with only Darrens blatant miss against the 'keeper in the 40th min and a few desperate attempts in the dying moments the sole contributions on the day.

Shame about the circumstances and the result as there noisey coach on the far side of the ground was well impressed with the pitch and general facilities on display.

Quite simply i have to say that the officials were the worst i have seen in 30 years of senior football. They failed to communicate with each other and the referees interpretation of the laws of the game were questionable. How he missed the blatent penalty in the last minute i dont know. THIS IS NOT SOUR GRAPES.

As a neutral who went on Saturday I think it was the Horley players who did themselves no favours. Certain players didn't stop moaning and some of the tackles especially as the game went on were getting a bit out of hand. Easy to blame the officials, but i thought Erith were a well organised side with a couple of flair players, and their defence dealt with most things - especially the long balls Horley kept playing.
Having said all that I was really impressed with Horleys set up and reckon you could hold your own with those facilities and crowds and youth set up etc. in the Ryman.
I am writing about the game for the Slough Town programme and my blog and need a few questions answered asap.
How long since you last entered the FA Cup. What's the furthest you've ever got.
How long were you homeless for and playing parks football? Was it after you were demoted from the Combined Counties - or where you just demoted to Division one.
What reasons/ground regulations did their demote you for
Did you have a number of suspensions already this season (someone mentioned 4 players)
