Horley Town 0-3 Epsom & Ewell - ReportHorley Town 0
Epsom & Ewell 3
Horley got off to the worst possible start going 1 down within 5mins after a mix up by Tom Winsor and Matt Hodge, from a free kick when they failed to clear the ball. Simon Lockwood in the Town goal then miss kicked his clearance straight to the E&E striker who put the ball away. Town couldn't get back into the game and went 2 down after a long ball over the top caught Matt Hodge out when he looked as he was going to head home to Lockwood, but changed his mind only to see the striker get behind him to slot the ball into the net. The half ended with Horley 2 down and needing to make a vast improvement in the second half. Town came out for the second half with a 3-4-3 formation and they looked a lot stronger and started to create a lot more chances but did couldn't find the back of the net. Town captain Tony Jupp went on an uncharacteristic run down the right wing and his cross found his brother Nathan, but his header went wide. The captain was involved in the next chance when he in delivered a long ball to Nathan which he should of scored from, but couldn't get the ball out from his feet. E&E killed the game off with their 3rd goal from a free kick from outside the box, which was given by the ref after what looked like a great tackle from Mick Norris. Town's poor first half performance cost them the game.
