Horley were drawn against local rivals Merstham in the cup. The league meeting produced a 1-1 draw, Town should have won the league game convincingly but couldn't finish their chances, they were determined to make sure the cup game was not the same. Town attacked Merstham from the off and were soon pushing them back. Carl Bettel made it 2 with a header at the backpost from a Chris Stamp corner. Town were in control and were not being caused too many problems by Merstham. Chris Stamp scored the goal of the game when he picked up the ball out on the right and fired an outstanding shot from at least 25 yards that flew into the top right hand corner like a rocket. The second half saw Merstham try and get back in the game, but Horley kept the pressure on and Chris Stamp made it 4-0 to wrap up a convincing win for Horley. Merstham got a consildation goal after their forward beat the offside and put the ball past the Town keeper.
