Redhill F.C management Committee are delighted to announce a series of Football Management appointments that represent the total restructuring of the ambitious Sussex County League Club. Chairman Andy Wheeler and his committee have been working tirelessly to seek a suitable replacement for former Manager Bob Langford and are delighted with the newly assembled team. Wheeler re affirmed the Clubs ambition to progress through the pyramid system with the aim of restoring Redhill FC to its rightful place among the higher echelons of the none league game stating that ‘the appointment of Tommy Sampson as first team manager along with the radical move of appointing Martin Chaplin as Director of Football represents the turning point in our desire to provide the people of Redhill with a team and a club to be proud of once again’. Wheeler continued to say that everyone at the club is ‘focussed on delivering the facilities to match our ambition and we hope the people of Redhill will turn out in their droves to support the Club next season. ‘Tommy Sampson is a winner and so too is Redhill FC, our season starts now with Tommy and his team seeking to assemble a strong squad to face the challenge ahead’
Not only has the Kiln Brow outfit dramatically changed its structure for its senior organisation it has also begun discussions with the junior section in order to set a path of opportunity for youngsters who will be able to progress from the junior ranks via their youth tem (under 17s) to the senior out fit. This is all part of the Clubs desire to have in place a plicy of succession planning that will see grater opportunities for young players in the Town. It is hoped that former Redhill player and manager Mark Endsleigh will play a key role in this process by developing these youngsters so that the Club can re enter both the FA Youth Cup and the Southern Youth league in twelve months time.
First Team Manager
Tommy Sampson
Tommy is a ‘winner’ in none league represents one of the most exciting appointments for Redhill for many years and brings with him a pedigree to make anyone’s mouth water not least his management of Deal Town from relative obscurity to F.A. Vase winners in 2000. Tommy will doubtless remain a legend on the Kent Coast for generations.
Previous clubs include Sheppey United, Herne Bay, Deal Town, Ashford town and Boreham Wood.
After working with Dartford FC as Manager, Tommy joined John Suter at Horsham YMCA where his immediate impact saw the Sussex Club gain promotion to the Ryman League where they have successfully consolidated themselves over the last two seasons.
His job description is straightforward – to ‘produce a Redhill Team that can achieve promotion to the Ryman League within two years’.

Redhill FC Director of Football. Martin Chapman:
Martin joined Redhill FC with Bob Langford’s coaching staff last season and quickly proved to be a popular figure with players, supporters and Committee alike. Club Officers were so impressed with Martin that they immediately offered him this new and challenging position the moment they were aware of Langford’s departure. He brings a wealth of experience to the Clubs’ Management Team.

Asst manager, Chief Scout Gravesend and Northfleet scout.

The duties of this new and challenging role are set out below:
To ensure continuity within the Football Club.
Liaise between Football Management and Club Committee.
Promote professionalism within the football structure and encourage Committee members to follow.
Liaise between First and Reserve Team structures to ensure a ‘working together’ environment between the two.
Encourage and develop the Youth Team organisation into a closer relationship with the Senior Club.
Liaise with Schools in the area to promote involvement with Redhill FC either through coaching or direct involvement with the Club.
Maintain close links with other Clubs, including monitoring player movement, availability (including loans). Maintain a close relationship with Club Managers in order to predict unrest or potential need to replace.
Available to act as ‘Caretaker Manager’ should the need arise.
Fulfil any other duties that the Chairman may identify from time to time.

First Team Assistant Manager:
STUART McINTYRE
Tommy Sampson has selected Stuart McIntyre as his No2. Stuart brings with him an incredible pedigree which underlines the Club’s ambition of gaining promotion as soon as possible by appointing a team of managers and coaches of the highest quality – possibly the strongest in Redhills’ recent history.
Age 46 Lives in Croydon.
Stuart played for over 15 years in non league football, including playing in the West of Scotland League, he then moved to London and played in the Combined Counties League
before ending his career with Kingstonians where he played for the reserves.
Stuart then took the position of under 18 coach in 1996 and manager the following season, before reverting to reserve team manager 1998 for 3years.
In 2002 he joined Bromley as first team coach and was promoted to manage their first team in
Dec 2003 and took them from 2nd to bottom to 6th winning the London Senior Cup in the process. In 2004 Bromley’s success continued under Stuart by reaching the 4th round of the FA Cup.
In April 2005 Stuart re joined Kingstonian as first team coach and then Manager from June 2006 . Stuart is a UeFA ‘A’ grade coach.

Redhill FC Reserve Team Manager:
Colin Poplett.
Colin Poplett is to take on the task of not only rebuilding the Clubs reputation in the SCL Reserve structure but to work with Tommy to develop a team with sufficient quality to move back into Suburban League Football within two years matching the ambition of the first team who are similarly tasked to achieve Ryman status.
Colin brings a host of experience both on and off the field having turned out for a number of local senior clubs including Crawley Town and Horley Town, he has managed at several of levels and had a successful spell with Horley when they first returned to the Combined Counties. Colin has a fine contact network at local level which fits exactly with the Clubs ambitions and is a fine coach in his own right.
The Club Committee are hoping that Colin will benefit and develop from working with Tommy Sampson and perhaps become his successor in years to come for it is this very ambition of ‘Succession Planning’ that is at the heart of this radical reorganisation.
